PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high affinity, neutralizing chimeric or human antibodies to interleukin-6 (IL-6) or fragments thereof, and to provide improvements over known antibodies or fragments thereof for use in preventing, treating, ameliorating, or diagnosing conditions related to the IL-6.SOLUTION: The invention relates to at least one novel chimeric, human or CDR grafted anti-IL-6 antibody obtained from murine CLB-8 antibody, and to methods of making and using thereof, including at least one isolated nucleic acid encoding such anti-IL-6 antibodies, vectors, host cells, transgenic animals or transgenic plants, therapeutic compositions, methods and devices. |
