<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door unlocking method and a device for allowing any kind of cellular phone to be substituted for a room key, without requiring a lodging facility to make a large plant and equipment investment, by eliminating the necessity of making a call by data communication and a cellular phone line. <P>SOLUTION: When a telephone number detected when a mail incoming part 9 for check-in/check-out receives call-out from a cellular phone 3, coincides with a telephone number stored and held in a telephone number/guest room number corresponding table 13, the telephone number is registered as the rook key of a door 4. When the cellular phone 3 calls out a door unlocking mail incoming part 10, a key of the door 4 corresponding to the telephone number is unlocked, and the key of the door 4 is locked after a prescribed time passes.
