<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system capable of reducing the power consumption of a mobile station, thereby more suppressing the reduction of an incoming wireless capacity than that of a conventional one. <P>SOLUTION: When a received wave of the mobile station 1 is demodulated, the result of demodulation is separated into the HS-PDSCH/DPCH or the like including user information and the HS-SCCH/CPICH including control information. The CPICH information is used for power measurement calculation in a CPICH measurement section 15, converted into quality information by a quality information generating section 16 after the measurement of the received power, and a quality information processing section 17 compares the quality information with quality information calculated at a previous time.
