<p>Brake block (20) comprises a sole (23) and a back (21) forming an integral cast part with an embedded steel reinforcement. The cast part comprises the cross-bridge (22) of the block. Preferred Features: The steel reinforcement consists of a flat material and the rear curved side is embedded in the cast part. The flat material extends over the whole length of the brake block and is bent over its length to fit the curve of the friction surface of the block.
