A physical transducer (3) is coupled with the sensor layer in such a manner that a characteristic of the transducer depends on water amount absorbed by the sensor layer. The transducer comprises an electrical resistor i.e. Ohmic resistor, where the characteristic of the transducer is selected from a resistance value of the electrical resistor.
