PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strengthening device for strengthening a support structure of a horizontal member in a scaffold construction in which the horizontal member is installed between support members.SOLUTION: A strengthening device comprises a brace member 7 extending obliquely between a middle portion of a horizontal member in a length direction and a lower portion of a support member extending downwardly from the horizontal member, upper fixing means 8 which fixes an upper end portion of the brace member to the horizontal member, and lower fixing means 9 which fixes a lower end portion to the support member. The upper fixing means 8 includes a support which is positioned at a lower side of the horizontal member, lower jaw means which holds a bottom face of the horizontal member, and upper jaw means 12 which holds a top face. A fixed jaw part is configured which is fixed to the support by one of the lower jaw means and the upper jaw means, and a movable jaw part is configured which can be freely moved back and forth with respect to the horizontal member by the other jaw means. Fastening means 16 is provided which includes a lock piece 15a inserted between the movable jaw part and the support to bring the movable jaw part into press-contact with the horizontal member. |
