PURPOSE: A method for preparing catalyst solvent is provided, to reduce the manufacturing cost and to prevent the aggravation of working environment due to the odor of acetic acid. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of reacting antimony trioxide (Sb2O3) and acetic anhydride in a solvent to obtain antimony triacetate (SbAc3); removing the solvent; and mixing the residue and ethylene glycol with stirring to obtain the ethylene glycol solution of antimony triacetate. The ethylene glycol solution of antimony triacetate is stored to allow antimony triacetate not to be crystallized. Preferably the solvent is toluene, o-xylene, m-xylene, p-xylene, mixture of xylenes or acetic acid, more preferably acetic acid. |
