<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light module and a flat panel display using this module. <P>SOLUTION: A high intensity discharge lamp includes a reflector having an opening for surrounding the high intensity discharge lamp, and a light source including a cover arranged on the opening. The cover includes a hot mirror coating made of a heat resistant material, passing the light and formed on its material.
