PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow laser light for recording/reproduction to arrive at a bulk layer with little loss while suppressing an increase in product cost of a bulk-type optical recording medium.
SOLUTION: An optical recording medium comprises: a recording layer in which marks are selectively recorded in a depth direction by irradiation of first light (recording/reproduction light) and in which the marks are formed in a multi-layer shape; and a reflection coating for reflecting second light (servo light) having a different wavelength from that of the first light, the reflection coating being formed on a lower layer side of the recording layer. This makes it possible to irradiate the recording layer with the recording/reproduction light with little loss. At the same time, in a configuration in which the reflection coating is provided on the lower layer side of the recording layer as described above, it is not necessary for the reflection coating to selectively reflect only the servo light. Thus, it is possible to eliminate the need of a conventionally used dielectric multilayer coating and to use, for example, a relatively low-cost reflection coating having a single layer structure of a metal material.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
