PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel electrode capable of realizing a high-performance solid oxide fuel cell even at a low-temperature condition with the use of a low-cost material not containing noble metal or the like by control of an electrode structure.

SOLUTION: For the fuel electrode of the solid oxide fuel cell composed of an electronic conductor, an oxygen-ion conductor and pores, an average pore diameter Dr lies between a mean free path of fuel gas (hydrogen gas) in an operational temperature of the fuel electrode and that of reaction product gas (steam), and a ratio D90/D10of a 10% equivalent diameter in an accumulated volume D10to a 90% equivalent in an accumulated volume D90of the pore diameter is to be smaller than 10.
