PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite metal oxide catalyst which is used when conjugated diene is produced from a gaseous mixture containing a monoolefin having 4 or more carbon atoms and an oxygen-containing gas by a vapor-phase catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation reaction, which has an excellent conversion ratio of the monoolefin and which can also improve selectivity of the desired conjugated diene.SOLUTION: The composite metal oxide catalyst is used when the conjugated diene is produced from the gaseous mixture containing the monoolefin having 4 or more carbon atoms and the oxygen-containing gas by the vapor-phase catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation reaction. The composite metal oxide catalyst contains an oxide of molybdenum, an oxide of rubidium, and silica, where relative to 12 atoms of the molybdenum, an atomic ratio of the rubidium is 0.1-0.5 and a content of silicon in the composite metal oxide catalyst is 0.1-30 wt.%.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
