The drill bit comprises a drill head (11) made of a sintered carbonaceous hard metal, a shaft (12), and a sintered iron-based intermediate piece (16). The intermediate piece is arranged along an axis between the drill head and the shaft. An activity of carbon in the intermediate piece for a temperature of 1100-1470[deg] C is same and/or is greater than an activity of carbon in the hard metal at the temperature. A length of the drill head is larger than a length of the intermediate piece along the axis. An independent claim is included for a process for producing a drill bit.
