PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure fuel pump which maintains responsiveness of a valve body and inhibits a suction valve from being closed at unintentional timing.SOLUTION: A high pressure fuel pump includes: a seat member; a valve body which contacts with the seat member; a stopper which restricts movement of the valve body to the compression chamber side; a passage formed between an outer peripheral wall of the stopper and an inner peripheral wall of a valve housing; and a communication passage which allows the passage to communicate with a stopper internal space formed at a stopper interior part on the compression chamber side of the valve body. The passage is formed at the outer periphery side of the communication passage so that a passage area becomes large toward the compression chamber side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
