PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating apparatus which prevents overcurrent from flowing to a circuit component such as a current type inverter when all switching elements of the current type inverter are turned on in accordance with a power supply stop command.SOLUTION: The induction heating apparatus comprises: a step-down chopper 20A including a step-down switching element 2; a current type inverter 30A; and a load 40 that is formed from a parallel resonance circuit of a capacitor 6 and a heating coil 7. The inverter 30A includes a bridge circuit and a reactor 4, and the load 40 is connected at an output side of the bridge circuit. The step-down chopper 20A is formed from a DC voltage source 1; a series circuit of the step-down switching element 2 and the reactor 4 connected between a positive electrode of the DC voltage source and the bridge circuit; and a diode 3 which is connected between a connection point of the step-down switching element 2 and the reactor 4 and a negative electrode of the DC voltage source 1 and is in an inverse direction to the switching element 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
