<p>The safety system includes several sensors associated with the fuel cell system, which provide safety relevant signals. The sensors are connected to the safety control. The fuel cell system has at least one device for switching off the fuel supply unit and at least one device for separating a component of the fuel cell system from the electric power source. These devices are actuated via the safety control. The safety system is in connection with an air bag system having an air bag, a gas generator for inflating the air bag, a safety belt, an air bag control and several sensors. The sensors are connected via circuitry to the air bag control and provide safety relevant signals to trigger release of the air bag or the seat belt tightening mechanism. The safety control f the fuel cell system is either connected to the air bag control or the air bag control takes on the function of the safety control of the fuel cell system. Independent claims also cover a safety system for use in a gas, hydrogen or propane driven vehicle and also cover a vehicle including such a safety system.</p> |
