PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for improving toughness and other properties of a resin for a composite structure.SOLUTION: A composition includes a plurality of polymer nanoparticles (204) having a cross-sectional width of 10-200 nanometers and being soluble or semi-soluble in a resin. The polymer nanoparticles constitute 10-75% by volume of the resin mixture, and produce a gradient of mechanical properties between a particle center and the resin after curing.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
