摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimum polymerizable liquid crystal composition uniformly coating the top surface of a norbornene-based resin substrate with a polymerizable liquid crystal composition and uniformly forming homeotropic alignment, to provide a liquid crystal film obtained from the same, to provide a homeotropically aligned liquid crystal film prepared by polymerizing a polymerizable liquid crystal compound contained in the polymerizable liquid crystal composition, to provide an optical compensation film using the film and to provide an image display device such as a liquid crystal display device, an organic EL (electroluminescent) display device or a PDP (plasma display panel) having the optical compensation film. <P>SOLUTION: The homeotropically aligned liquid crystal film is obtained by coating the top surface of the norbornene-based resin substrate subjected to a hydrophilization treatment with the polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing the polymerizable liquid crystal compound having a polymerizable group with an epoxy and a non-polymerizable polar group using a polar solvent and polymerizing the polymerizable liquid crystal compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
