PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of more sufficiently performing conveyance of sheet. SOLUTION: The image forming device 10 has a sheet feeding cassette 56 stacked/stored with the sheet; a feed roll 58 for feeding the sheet from the sheet feeding cassette 56 to an image forming part 14 through a contact part N2 formed by registration rolls 62, 76; a separating roll 81 pressure-contacted with the feed roll 58 and separating the sheet at the contact part N1 formed between the feed roll 58 and it; and a pressure-contact force reduction mechanism 122 for reducing pressure-contact force of the handling roll 81 relative to the feed roll 58 while the handling roll 81 retains separation force for separating the sheet to an approximately constant degree.
