PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel drum exhibiting excellent resistance to vibration even when long-time vibration is applied during a long-distance transportation. SOLUTION: [1] The steel drum has a rolled and welded joint of a barrel and a base plate or a top plate constituting a can body and/or a welded joint at least in part of the joint in the circumference. A molded region for absorbing vibration is formed circumferentially like a groove along the whole or part of the base plate or the top plate in a part toward an outer peripheral region of the base plate or the top plate. [2] In [1], the molded region for absorbing vibration is provided within a range of r/2 where r refers to a diameter of the base plate or the top plate from the joined end between the barrel and the base plate or the top plate.
