<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control signal receiver capable of informing a user whether it is necessary or not to replace a battery of a remote controller without requiring a special configuration on the remote controller side. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The remote control signal receiver counts the number of remote control signals successfully received within a prescribed decision time and compares it with the number of remote control signals which can be theoretically received within the decision time, to estimate the residual capacity of the battery of the remote controller. Thus, the user can be informed of shortage of the battery remaining capacity of the remote controller by the remote control signal receiver without requiring a special configuration in the remote controller.
