<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide angle lens which ensures a space to incorporate a bending mirror, has a bending mirror section of compact constitution and has satisfactorily corrected aberration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The wide angle lens includes, in order from a long conjugate distance side, a first lens group and a second lens group having positive refractive power. The first lens group includes, in order from the long conjugate distance side, a front group of the first lens group consisting of three or more negative lens elements only, and a rear group of the first lens group consisting of one positive lens element.
