PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that is on a motor system comprising an inverter and a three-phase AC motor and is used for identifying the number of phases having a short-circuit failure in a three-phase inverter.SOLUTION: A motor system disclosed by the present specification comprises an inverter, a three-phase AC motor, and a controller. The inverter includes a switching element in each of an upper arm and lower arm of each phase. The controller identifies the number of phases having a short-circuit failure by using counter-electromotive force of the three-phase AC motor. The controller determines that short-circuit failures have occurred in all of the three phases (S23, S26) when all of three-phase AC currents generated by counter-electromotive force of the three-phase AC motor include zero-crossing; determines that short-circuit failures have occurred in any two of the three phases (S23, S25) when two of the three-phase AC currents include zero-crossing; and determines that a short-circuit failure has occurred in one of the three phases (S23, S24) when none of the three-phase AC currents include zero-crossing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
