The invention provides a surface mounting apparatus and a correction coefficient calculating method of the surface mounting apparatus. On condition that correspondence is established with a mounting operation position P, a fixed part of a mounting apparatus body (101) is provided with a plurality of reference marks (40a-40f). An expansion calculating part (34) utilizes coordinate positions of partial reference marks (40a-40c) and calculates ball screw shafts (8,14) which drive a head unit (5). A correction coefficient calculating part (322) calculates a correction efficient (K) for correcting a target coordinate position that corresponds with the mounting operation position (P) according to a thermal expansion change amount. Therefore, effect to takt time can be greatly reduced, and furthermore the correction coefficient for a sufficient necessary precision is calculated. |
