PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission using a post swingably supporting yokes as a regulating member regulating a tilting angle of a trunnion and bringing the top end of a support shaft rotatably supporting a power roller into contact with the restriction member. SOLUTION: The support shaft 28b penetrates the center of rotation of the power roller 11 and is arranged concentrically with the power roller 11 so as to rotatably support the power roller 11. The top end of the support shaft 28b is projected from the edge of the power roller 11. An integral post 65 is formed to extend between the pair of yokes 23A, 23B along the axial direction of an axis 14, 14. The integral post 65 is disposed on the edge side of the power roller 11. The integral post 65 has a groove 72 for receiving therein the top end 28c of the support shaft 28b that moves corresponding to the tilting of the trunnion 15 for regulating a range of movement of the top end 28c.
