The present disclosure is related to a robotic system to assist in rehabilitation therapies of flexion/extension movements of the fingers of the hand. The robotic system comprises four crank-slide type mechanisms driven by rotational actuators and arranged in different flexion/extension planes of the long fingers of the hand, and a fixed base for supporting the forearm. Each of the four mechanisms performs the motion of each finger end in a natural flexion/extension movement of the segments of the digital chain by winding the phalanges in a logarithmic spiral pattern. The robotic system comprises a security system that prevents finger hyper-extension and allows both passive and active rehabilitation by applying an adjustable opposition force to the movement that the user must overcome. |
