PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can effectively prevent fixing failure at the start of a print job, and in turn provide good images.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises a temperature detection part that detects the temperature or the temperature around a rotation start time temperature increase member that is a constituent member, of constituent members of the image forming apparatus, the temperature of which increases due to heat of a fixing roller by the fixing roller controlled to have a predetermined temperature starting to rotate from a rotation stop state. When receiving a print command in a print job, if a detection temperature detected by the temperature detection part is less than a predetermined reference temperature, the image forming apparatus inhibits the print job, does not start an image forming operation, rotates the fixing roller while forcibly turning on a heat source until the detection temperature becomes equal to or higher than the reference temperature, and when the detection temperature becomes equal to or higher than the reference temperature, permits the print job and starts the image forming operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
