METHOD FOR PROCESSING DEFECT DETECTION SIGNALS OF OPTICAL INFORMATION STORING MEDIA RECORDING/REPRODUCING APPARATUS

A method for processing a defect detection signal of a reproducing/recording device of an optical information storage medium is provided to prevent instability of a servo control process and to improve track-following performance. A method for processing a defect detection signal of a reproducing/recording device of an optical information storage medium comprises the steps: generating the defect detection signal including a servo hold pulse, from RF signal inputted from a pick up unit; outputting a first signal by performing OR operation on the defect detection signal and a first multi signal which has a first pulse width; and outputting a second signal by performing AND operation on the first signal and a second multi signal which has a second pulse width.
