<p>A tire for a two-wheeled vehicle, having improved turning performance (cornering ability) achieved without impairing tire performance such as straight travel performance, high-speed performance, riding comfort, and uniformity. The tire includes a carcass layer (22) and a spiral belt (23). The carcass layer (22) has a tread section (11), side wall sections (12) arranged so as to extend from the opposite edges of the tread section to the radially inner side of the tire, and bead sections (13) contiguous to the radially inner side portions of the side wall sections. The carcass layer (22) reinforces the above mentioned sections across the bead cores (21) embedded in the bead sections. The spiral belt (23) is spirally formed on the radially outer side of the carcass layer (22) so as to be substantially parallel to the circumferential direction of the tire. The spiral belt layer (23) is constructed from a steel-rubber composite body formed by embedding one or more spirally formed steel wires in rubber without twisting the steel wires. The diameter of each steel wire is in the range of 0.25 - 0.60 mm.</p> |
