PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus which can surely prevent an untreated liquid from mixing into a treated liquid when a power outage or trouble of an ultraviolet lamp occurs. SOLUTION: In the ultraviolet irradiation apparatus which performs ultraviolet treatment of a stock solution by irradiating it with ultraviolet rays, a treated liquid storage tank 14 for storing treated liquid having been subjected to the ultraviolet treatment in an ultraviolet treatment tank 13 irradiating the stock solution with the ultraviolet rays is installed downstream of the ultraviolet treatment tank 13, and the inside of the treated liquid storage tank 14 is divided into a treated liquid inflow chamber 15 and a treated liquid outflow chamber 16 by an overflow weir 17. The volume of the treated liquid inflow chamber 15 is set according to the amount of the treated liquid flowing into the treated liquid inflow chamber 15 from the ultraviolet treatment tank 13 during a period from occurrence of a power outage or trouble of an ultraviolet lamp to closing of a shut-off valve.
