<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for shaping a glass plate, shaping a corner part of the glass plate as desired without error in a positional relationship between the glass plate and a grinding wheel even if the moving speed of the glass plate is changed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The device 1 for shaping a glass plate is equipped with: a moving means 7 for moving the glass plate 2 in X-direction parallel to one edge 6 thereof; an annular grinding wheel 4 as a grinding tool for grinding a corner part 3 on the one edge 6 side of the glass plate 2; a moving means 8 for moving the grinding wheel 4 in Y-direction orthogonal to the X-direction; an annular grinding wheel 5 as a grinding tool for grinding a corner part 3a on the other edge 11 side extending in the X-direction which is opposed to the one edge 6 of the glass plate 2; a moving means 9 for moving the grinding wheel 5 in the Y-direction; and a control means 10 for controlling the moving means 8 and 9 to move the grinding wheels 4 and 5 in the Y-direction in response to the X-axial movement of the glass plate 2, while moving the glass plate 2 in the X-direction.
