Microencapsulation of sensor for e.g. diagnosis of hydroencephalitis

In a method, encapsulating an intracorporeal measurement system, the mould comprises upper and lower dies (3, 4) with longitudinal bridging sections (5). The measurement system includes a sensor (9) on a sheet substrate with conductive tracks (6). In the improved method, a lower strip (1) is laid on the lower die and is rolled, pressing it into the bridging sections. The substrate is laid on the lower strip, and covered by an upper strip (2). The dies are then closed and pressed together. Finally, the strips are extracted. Also claimed are (i) the encapsulated system described, preferred variants of which include a window or pearlescent material over the sensor and (ii) a trocar, a sharp-tipped instrument with groove having gripping sides, and a handle, used to introduce the sensor
