PURPOSE: A PCMCIA(Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) compartment is to minimize a damage of a card and other parts by providing a PCMCIA card housing equipped with a movable door suitable for accepting a PCMCIA card of various magnitudes and shapes. CONSTITUTION: A PCMCIA compartment comprises: a recessed type card housing having a dimension so sufficiently big as to mount the PCMCIA card(48); and a movable door(47) located on the card housing. The movable door(47) has a device to cover the whole of horizontal portion of the PCMCIA card. The housing contains a device to enclose the whole of horizontal portion of the PCMCIA card in the housing in a manner that a protrusion part(46) of the card is exposed upward, but is not horizontally extended more than a terminal part(3) of the computer.
