Closure device in which the engagement plate (7) or the lock (3) is so joined to one of the components (1,2) by screws (12) which can be actuated from outside that before the screws are secured the engagement plate or the lock is displaceable to a limited degree relative to one of the two components. The lock or the engagement plate is limited in the extent to which it can move by a stop (20). The stop is formed by a recess (8) which surrounds the lock or the engagement plate.
