The device has a radial locking pin (4) that engages an appropriate opening of the drilling tool. The locking pin is rotatably and adjustably arranged in casing (17) and there is a radial journal (16) on the locking pin that engages an elongated helical window (18) in the casing. Viewed from the surface of the casing the window lies diagonally to the axis of rotation of the locking pin and casing in the front region and is aligned transversely to the axis of rotation in the rear region. The locking pin can be rotated by a crank-shaped lever (14) transverse to the axis of rotation with a pneumatic cylinder (11) acting upon it.
