PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device that can perform printing by moving a printing medium backward when performing printing on a roll sheet wound to be printed on an inner periphery thereof, and suppress the printing medium from being moved backward when performing printing on a roll sheet wound to be printed on an outer periphery thereof.SOLUTION: When performing a printing process, a CPU determines whether or not a roll sheet stored in a storage part is an inwardly wound sheet. If determining that the roll sheet is the inwardly wound sheet (S51:YES), the CPU reversely rotates a platen roller and makes a tip part of a medium of the sheet to approach a printing position at which the platen roller contacts a thermal head when performing printing (S53), and then performs printing (S61-S65). If determining that the roll sheet is an outwardly wound sheet (S51:NO), the CPU keeps on performing printing. When the printing is completed (S65:YES) and when the sheet is cut off (S69), the CPU finishes the printing process and returns the process to a main routine. The tip part of the medium of the sheet is maintained in a state of being arranged at the cutting position until a following printing process is performed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
