Provided are an inkjet recording device and a method for controlling the inkjet recording device in which it is possible to minimize generation of temperature unevenness on the transportation surface of a transportating means when the transportation operation of the transportating means stops. The inkjet recording device is provided with: a transporting means for performing a transportation operation for moving a transportation member and thereby transporting a recording medium placed on the transportation surface of the transportation member; a recording means for discharging ink onto the recording medium transported by the transporting means and recording an image; a heat source; a heat source moving means for moving the heat source; and a heat source movement control means for causing the heat source to be moved by the heat source moving means so as to increase the distance between the heat source and the transportation surface if the transportation operation performed by the transporting means stops in a mode in which the transportation operation can be resumed in a state in which the heat source is located in the vicinity of the transportation surface. |
