A resilient pad for a mattress comprising a structural portion 12 which forms part of a base or periphery of the pad and a support portion 14 arranged to sit within or on the structural portion 12 wherein the support portion 14 is either not attached to the structural portion or has different characteristics and wherein both are formed entirely from pocket springs. The springs may form an array with each in an individual pocket and interchangeable support portions 14 may be provided to change the attributes of the pad. The structural portion 12 may have a base and a wall and have different zones with different levels of resilience. Covers formed from sleeves may be provided wherein the sleeve has a panel with a pocketed spring unit. The device may take the form of a mattress. |
