<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery capable of enhancing a discharge capacity and an energy density, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The positive electrode has a positive electrode current collector, and a positive electrode active material layer provided on the positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode active material layer has graphene and lithium-containing composite oxide alternately. The lithium-containing composite oxide is a single crystal grain having a flat shape. The single crystal grain having the flat shape has a length in a b-axial direction shorter than lengths in an a-axial direction and a c-axial direction. The lithium-containing composite oxide is provided on the positive electrode current collector so that the b-axial direction of the single crystal grain intersects a surface of the positive electrode current collector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
