The waste undergoes an impact crushing or comminution, in which the impact speed is so great that the particular minerals are reduced to a sufficient grain size that 100% pass a first sieving (8), and that the sieve overrun (9) forms a fraction containing no particular minerals and the sieve pass (12) forms a further fraction in the form of a mixed fraction containing all particular minerals.
