The device has mattress (1) with multiple air chambers arranged in a grid and multiple controllable valves, where each valve is assigned to one of the air chambers (2). A data interface is present over which valve controllable data are displayed and received wirelessly. A control unit operates the valves in dependence of the valve controllable data. A mattress profile memory is present in which mattress profile corresponding valve controllable data are stored for each of the air chambers. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a data-carrier for inserting into the data-carrier holder of reclining device (2) a mobile communication device.
