Provided is a light emitting element array, which can be driven in a time-division manner with less driving ICs. A light emitting element array chip (1) includes an n-number (n is an integer of 2 or more) of switching thyristors (S), an n-number of signal transmission lines (GH) individually connected with the N-gate electrodes (d) of the switching thyristors (S), and a plurality of light emitting thyristors (T) having N-gate electrodes (b) connected with any of the n-number of signal transmission lines (GH). With the N-gate electrodes (d) of the n-number of switching thyristors (S), there are connected the anodes (e) of selecting thyristors (U), the N-gate electrodes (f) of which are connected with a common select signal transmission line (CSL).
