A portable electronic device for enabling the phonetic input of a text and output an improved search window in the text disambiguation environment and a related method are provided to make the phonetic input possible by using a reduced keyboard and a conversion algorithm. A processor apparatus comprises a processor(36) and a memory(40). The memory stores a plurality of objects. The objects comprise a plurality of linguistic objects, a plurality of characters and a plurality of words. At least some of the linguistic objects are associated with each of the characters, and each word includes the characters. Each linguistic object comprises a plurality of linguistic elements. An input unit(8) comprises a plurality of input members and provides an input to the processor apparatus. At least some of the input members have self-assigned plural linguistic elements. A part input member has an plurality of language elements allotted by itself at least. An output device(12) receives output signals from the processor apparatus.
