(Figure 1) The present invention concerns a trap for trapping insect larvae, particularly mosquito and small fly larvae. The trap includes a container having a base, a rim and at least one sidewall extending between the base and the rim; a first directing member having a mouth configured to be located at least partly above a central portion of the base and at least one sidewall extending between the rim or at least one sidewall of the container and the mouth; and a second directing member having an apex configured to be located at least partly within the mouth of the first directing member.
