PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector where sure locking to the counterpart connector with lock release is facilitated, and size reduction is realized. SOLUTION: In the electrical connector, provided with a lock part 15 for locking at insertion coupling of connectors, and an operating part 14B for bending and deforming an elastic arm part 14 to release its locking, with a space for receiving a counterpart connector formed by peripheral walls 34 to 36 of the housing, at the elastic arm part 14 extended from the housing 11 in free elastic bending deformation, a plurality of notched parts 36B for allowing extension of a cable extended from the counterpart connector 10 at a plurality of positions are formed at right angles with the insertion-coupling direction of the connectors at one 36 of the four-side sidewalls, making up the peripheral walls; and the one sidewall 36 forms a post 36C for guiding the counterpart connector between the notched parts.
