The present invention relates to an apparatus for stabilizing a camera-photographed image, which is installed on a moving object, provides a photographed image of a front region of the moving object, and enables a stable image to be output based on a moving direction of the moving object even when a camera-photographed image is shaken by a posture of the moving object, and also relates to a method for stabilizing a camera-photographed image. The apparatus for stabilizing a camera-photographed image according to the present invention comprises: a camera which is installed on a moving object, and photographs a front image of the moving object; a posture detection means which outputs a posture detection signal including location information and angle information of the moving object on which the camera is installed; a filter which removes a noise component attributable to motion from the posture detection signal provided by the posture detection means; an image stabilization means which estimates shake error for the camera based on the current posture information provided by the posture detection means and stabilized posture information provided by the filter, and performs coordinate conversion, corresponding to the shake error attributable to a change in posture, on the original image provided by the photographing means, thereby generating a stabilized image based on a moving direction. |
