PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a liquid crystal display method in which even when the polarity of supplied voltage between electrodes is alternately switched, voltage variation between pixel electrodes is small and a sufficiently large transmittance is obtained. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a plurality of pixels arrayed like a matrix in intersection parts of a plurality of scanning lines and a plurality of data lines; a scanning line driver connected to the plurality of scanning lines to output scanning signals; and a data line driver connected to the plurality of data lines to output data signals. In the liquid crystal display device, each of the pixels is provided with: a liquid crystal cell 202 where liquid crystal is held between a pair of electrodes; a memory cell 200 for storing data signals supplied through the plurality of data lines and read by a scanning signal supplied through the plurality of scanning lines; and a logic cell 201 connected to one of a pair of electrodes in common on the basis of the data signal read from the memory cell 200 to switch voltage supplied from the external between two values and output the switched voltage.
