PRODUCTION METHOD OF OLEFIN, AND CATALYST FOR PRODUCING OLEFIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an olefin and a catalyst for producing the olefin, capable of efficiently producing the olefin at a high yield using an alcohol as a raw material, the olefin having a carbon atom number one or more larger than that of the alcohol.

SOLUTION: The production method of the olefin for producing the olefin having the carbon atom number one or more larger than that of the alcohol from the alcohol in the presence of an indium oxide-containing catalyst that contains an indium oxide includes making water and/or hydrogen coexist in a reaction system where the alcohol is reacted. The catalyst for producing the olefin is also provided.
