A lawnmower comprises a deck (1) defining a cutting chamber open to ground datum. A chute leads from the cutting chamber to an exit aperture formed in the deck (1). A grass-box (3) has an entry opening (3b) for admitting cut grass, and the grass-box is detachably mounted on a carrier (4). The carrier (4) is pivotally mounted on the deck (1) for movement between a first position, in which the grass-box entry opening (3b) is in alignment with the exit aperture, and a second position, in which the grass-box entry opening is out of alignment with the exit aperture and the carrier guards the exit aperture. |
