The system has multiple identification tags (I1-I3), where each identification tag is provided with a radio receiver (E), a radio transmitter (S) and a control device (D). Each identification tag is formed and/or controlled as an independently networkable station of a network for transmitting data (d1). The control device is formed and/or controlled for deactivating the transmission functionality and for reactivating the transmission functionality after the reception of a reactivation signal. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an active radio identification system or identification tags.
