<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal member, which can fit the peripheral face of a cable without space even if the size of the cable is different, and a seal assembly. <P>SOLUTION: The seal member includes a mantle 28, which has a separation line 23 extending in at least its circumferential direction at the peripheral face 26, and a pair of separation ends, which are separated along the separation line 23, and a through hole 22, which allows a cable to be passed, exists inside the mantle 28. The mantle 28 can elastically transform in a direction where the outside diameter of the through hole 22 expands and a direction where the outside diameter of the through hole 22 contracts. Even if the mantle 28 elastically transforms in the direction where the outside diameter of the through hole 22 expands and the direction where it contracts by an equivalent of its length in the circumferential direction of the separation line, the closed state of the mantle 28 is kept by the pair of separation ends overlapping each other, and the inner peripheral face of the through hole 22 contacts elastically with the peripheral face of the cable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
